My name is Carolyn Collins Groeteke, I am currently completing my final semester in the Master of Science program in Human Resources Development. My academic foundation is robust; it includes both a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), both of which I earned from the University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler). I maintain a deep affinity for the institution and the surrounding community, where I reside. I recently married on August 10, 2024.

Reflecting on my career development trajectory, my professional experience spans diverse sectors and demonstrates my commitment to leadership and continuous skill acquisition. My early professional roles included management experience as a General Sales Manager for a start-up Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company. This was followed by a supervisory role within a county correctional facility, showcasing my ability to manage complex operational environments.

Demonstrating a commitment to technical proficiency and diversification, I subsequently earned a Drafting Degree from Lee College. Furthermore, my entrepreneurial spirit led me to establish and operate my own business as a Web Developer and Web Host, complementing my extensive professional and educational background. This diverse history—ranging from technical drafting and web development to sales management and correctional supervision—provides me with a unique, multidisciplinary perspective as I conclude my graduate studies in Human Resources Development.

“Hi, my name is Mackenzie, and I am a 39-year-old married mother of three. I grew up in West Texas in the Odessa/Midland area until high school and then moved to the Dallas metroplex. I have a BBA in Management from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. I am taking the current course as it is required for the master’s program and to gain a better understanding of human resources basics.  My expectation of this course is to learn from our professor and other student’s practices that I can take into my future career. I will contribute any knowledge, experience, or skills to assist in the class.”
